Everything You Need to Know
What is K-12 Heartsaver CPR/AED and First Aid?
K-12 Heartsaver CPR/AED and First Aid is an American Heart Association certification course that teaches students and school staff how to respond to cardiac and breathing emergencies in adults, children, and infants — including how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED). Peacelance CPR Training brings this program directly to schools in McDonough, GA and across the greater Atlanta area.
What are the benefits of K-12 Heartsaver CPR/AED and First Aid?
The K-12 Heartsaver program gives students, teachers, coaches, and school staff the skills to recognize cardiac arrest and breathing emergencies, perform CPR on adults, children, and infants, use an AED, and provide basic first aid. It’s designed for non-healthcare providers, satisfies Georgia’s hands-on CPR/AED graduation training requirement, and builds a generation of lifesavers on your campus. Every participant receives an official American Heart Association certification card.
How much does the K-12 Heartsaver course cost?
The K-12 CPR/AED and First Aid Heartsaver course costs $35 per student with American Heart Association provider Peacelance CPR Training, and takes about 2–4 hours to complete. Group scheduling for classrooms, athletic teams, and entire grade levels is available — call (470) 781-6601 to set up training at your school.
Does this satisfy Georgia’s CPR graduation requirement?
Yes. Georgia requires hands-on CPR and AED instruction for high school students before graduation, and the AHA Heartsaver K-12 program delivers exactly that — psychomotor (hands-on) practice on manikins with AED trainers, taught by certified instructors, with documentation your administration can keep on file.
How does scheduling work for schools?
We build the training around your bell schedule. Options include class-period rotations for health and PE classes, dedicated sessions for athletic teams and clubs, staff in-service training, and multi-day plans for entire grade levels. We bring all manikins, AED trainers, and materials — your school just provides the room.
Can teachers and staff get certified too?
Absolutely — and we recommend it. Many schools add a staff session (teachers, coaches, front office, cafeteria, and bus staff) to the same visit, so the adults on campus are certified alongside the students. Ask about combined student + staff pricing when you call.
CPR is one of the most valuable life skills a student can learn. According to the American Heart Association, immediate CPR can double or even triple survival rates after cardiac arrest — and most cardiac arrests happen at home, where a trained student may be the only help available.
